H.O.M.E

To raise awareness for the inhumane consequences of deforestation on native communities, I wrote this short, eight-part series.

It follows Mateo, as he struggles with the depression that follows him after his home town was ravaged by institutionalised deforestation, and explores the effects that has on him, and in turn, the person closest to him.

​

As well as drawing on the context of nature preservation, I also drew on a personal experience surrounding emotional manipulation. I explore the psyche of a person who does something like that, the mistakes I made to end up in that situation, and the emotional impact that had on me, using the story as a macrocosm for that experience, as well as a macrocosm for how we as human beings treat Mother Nature.
